"Humble are those who hurt none, even those the feeble one

Show nerve to utter truth, To procure the ultimate ken"

A Cry – Alas, no eye has Shed a Tear

Away you chased and battered us

Muting our cries in throats you press

Seeing our ashes in the crematorium

Watching our pyres and bodies burn thus

At the turn of events even the foliage became a boiling way

Everyone was obsessed with one thought of running away

We left behind all we had accumulated for ages

Searching the love and affection of yore we loudly say

The blossoms in blooming orchards are weeping

Every day from afar calling us creeping

Show us your face, once again, our loved ones

Hoarse throats crying, sparrows and mynahs leaping

Flopping down the mountains come rivulets and vines

Wind whispers amidst the willows and pines

O! Please don’t leave me my heavenly heart

Shiva, the lord of lords waits for you in shrines

Destroying this vale that I heartily loved

They painted paths with my bloodwhom I loved

Exposing the fake love with lip service to bonds

Slaying relationship by becoming brothers in shroud

Generations of my family have lived in this vale

Not even the world today wants to hear my tale

Even the law has turned blind for us

It shall give us some strength, pray hear my wail

Whom do we tell our story of pain and despair?

Battered and bruised each of us is scattered in fear

Whom do I ask for the welfare of my motherland?

Who shall listen to my laments about my lost land?

Pray tell us our fault, what wrong did we do?

Why have we been scattered all over through?

O my land of Rishis, I would sacrifice my life for you

Leave me not isolating; how much pain should I go through?

Alas, on our plight no eye has shed a single tear

With pain and battered heart still a smile we wear

A HALLUCINATION OF TRUTH

Good spirits infuse life taking away grief

From the dark forests of entangled branches

That await the sun to dry up the decaying reef

Along the black sky the stitched eyes

tear apart the blocking screen to hear

the living sympathetic noise that never dies.

Struggling through the thick and thin of rime

managing to cut ice with great toil

not knowing the slipping hours eat away time

The phase passing through all the moments

make them memorable for the coming generations

waving a much feeble hand with alluring ornaments

The masculine feeling the haughty mind

a rare piece of strength descended from

he caves of mammoth that bind

A tired look feeling the fog of the evening

making a deliberation of last efforts

to leave all the memories shining

All struggles of the long journey fading away

giving no clues of the happenings

licking the last drop of moist substance of prey

The burden showing the extreme symbol

of bowed spinal cord of seventy summers

the only winter had seeped into the rubble .

Drenched with oozy marigold dye to console

the milky robe wearing a wreath of flowers,

singing corals to adieu the irksome soul.

A calm spreading over the whole monarch

of nature, the imperfect balance of

a little screech penetrate the cool march.

Thanks

You became my feet when I couldn’t walk,

You became my voice when I couldn’t talk,

You became my eyes when I couldn’t see,

Where shall I find you, come to me

I owe you my life.

You became my words when I couldn’t read,

You became my hands and gave me lead,

You lit my mind my thoughts became free,

Where shall I find you, come to me

I owe you my life.

You became my inspiration when I saw you,

When I expected you gave me support too,

You loved me with full glee,

Where shall I find you, come to me

I owe you my life,

You showed me the path of duty,

You gave me the sense of beauty,

Your essence even did not flee,

Where shall I find you come to me

I owe you my life.

I felt your touch when I am in pain,

When I worry most you make them wane,

You grow bigger and I become wee,

Where shall I find you come to me

I owe you my life.

Rest your affectionate hand on my head,

When I am alive or am dead,

You are the father taking care of me,

Where shall I find you come to me

I owe you my life.

Nothing can exist without your nod,

That is why you are called god,

I pray you always remain with me,

Where shall I find you, come to me,

I owe you my life.

Sobbing fetus

Lore of love you sang for me

Welcome door opened for me

Heard I have that you are God

Then show some courage

And think O the lord

What happened to you baffled am I

Is creation razing the creator’s ply?

Slay ugly wishes and be naive not

Hurl your beast away

And pure your thought

A gift from Him I am you know

Gorgeous design of nature so

Greet me my mom with lovely heart

How eager I am to be your part

My dad my mom love me such

And portray my value very much

A human of pride I want to be

So think of me I pray to thee

My thought will always remain the same

To love nature and shun the shame

Open your arms to embrace me

Feel my warmth and then you see

All your worries will be mine

World will adore you will shine

Never shall I ask for anything

Will accept whatever you bring

A bird from heaven am I

As a pearl in deep silently lie

I want to be a loving daughter

And you want me to slaughter?

I look for a soft cradle to sleep

Sympathetic loving shoulder to weep

All your loneliness will evade

Doubts and concern will fade

Man will flourish everywhere

And anxieties will vanish there

If girls are valued and loved

Man will always feel proud

I pledge this you see

It’s His message to thee

Heard I have that you are God

Then show some courage

And think O the lord

From clutches of evil me you save

Save my life you conceived O Brave

You wished then I came

Now, how I am to blame?

Walking two children along a bank

Into the water kicking the pebbles

Laughing and jumping watching the ripples

which are made by the bubbles

Lived the wild animals the river was full

Crocodile ruled the water land ruled the bull

Cunning are the people who disliked a hunter

Threw him away believed was a Dexter

Old hunter watching gave a loud call

Paid no attention both moved on

“The breed is new so they won’t fall”

Thought the old man when they had gone

Appeared they again with bat and a ball

Shouted the old man sitting in the lawn

Hay I call you why don’t you come near

I will play with you listen to my plan

As is evident the children were thrilled

Looking here and there they ran to the old

His eyes widened his voice shrilled

“Throw the bat down and take this gold’

When the coin tossed and reached the young

It became a bird with golden feet and tongue

Talking sweet and making lot of fun

Like it were many but it was only one

Both children amazed watching the show

Tried one to catch and let go

Again doing same the second rolled and leapt

Slipped the bird high the boy now wept

Seeing this the man let out of bag

A mouse a cat a nightingale a flag

Words

Lovely words never die soon

Nor forgotten in fray or croon

They’re like the sun and moon

Awake day and night to festoon

Look for words that make a wreath

Bind with passion, love they breathe

No muck they spread no hearts they hurt

Legacy they bequeath shun they dirt

Bring much hate, kill people too

Wonder they create and heckle too

Truth they speak and lie they wear

Widen the distance or get that near

Spell them out, astute you be

Churn them up and change you see

Cut them forth and big they seem

All the time they walk in gleam

Dirt they spread wars they promote

Keep kin away by awful quote

So watch your words that you say

Or repent after and fall prey

So utter no filth and be very kind

To destitute and poor whoever you find

Soft you speak and success you ride

People will value and you will be pride

TEACHER

You held my hand to make an inception

You made me polish my rational perception

My childish pranks were all the above

You made me realize the expression of love

A person in me you built from the dirt

And made it sure I wasn’t hurt

Liable for my wisdom you are the one

My meekinnovation ignored you none

You made it sure I would do the best

Your punishment was a boon to my zest

A hearth in me you made it kindle

Never my intuition you did dwindle

A guide and father you became for me

Can’tpay off the debt I owe, you see

Play naught with mother, it is a shame

Memorize don’t play any game

Raze not the memoirs keep them same

Sprinkle they whence out of the frame

Beauty will dwindle cracks will appear

Make not her sad she won’t spare

Comes she not without warning

Can be seen smiling every morning

Guard her beauty and raze her not

More she suffers yet doesn’t blame

Adore her, from heaven she came

Shadow and Ant

A shadow long and sleek lay on the uneven ground

Became sharp and defused by the sun that was proud.

A small ant carrying on her shoulders a big grain,

Struggling with the wind and droplets of the rain.

‘Why does this happen’, asked the little ant.

Powerful suppress others’, was her only chant.

Shadow was thoughtful her eyes fix and bleak

Calm was her nature and intentions no weak.

Devoted to personal help only makes me haughty,

He harasses everyone and thinks himself mighty.

You are selfish and only think of you.

Pleasure you will get If you are helpful too.

The ant was upset and thought of her toil

She never sat idle and heaped all under soil.

True I look all the time for food and grain

Cross all the hurdles and bear all the pain.

Not for me only but for my other mate,

My work is to collect and not to bait.

In rain or sun I work honestly till the last,

Mom taught me to work and not to be aghast.

Listening to all this the shadow was quiet,

A slave she was and existed when the sun was bright.

I also wanted to run and to be free,

But it was not my fate to jump and spree.

Service is my work and faithfulness my duty,

Born am I to hang with all an ugly or a beauty.

I go where my master goes,

Bound to his wishes he sat or rose.

Disappeared the shadow as the wind blew hard,

Lost her grain and was unable it to guard.

Work is my worship and doing it my fate,

Can’t live without it; have to find it I shan’t wait.

As her usual she goes in search of another……

LOST THOUGHT

I remember

The caves I lived in, gave me peace

The trees I wrested, made me appease

The elongated tusks of lions wandering for prey

And mother listening to young bashfully pray

For a good fill.

I remember

The kingdom of beasts struggling for existence

Their cries when skies burst with persistence

The mountains emanate clouds of fire

The waters swallowing lands with assimilation

That we admire

I remember

The emerald fertile lands becoming crude

The pure lovely minds becoming rude

The hollow vessels banging without aim

But no one to cry for the earth

They bring shame.

I remember

The leap from woods created concrete jungles no doubt

The gods of earth betraying their shout

Flying to too far off lands, out to the sky

Searching truth before Him

That lay.

But now I have become

Totally blind can’t see beautiful nature

Crippled, can’t walk with absolute pleasure

Deaf, can’t hear the feeble words of love

Jealous and ambitious can’t bear

Anything now

So

O Lord! Make me even too small

‘Cause I can’t afford to be tall

Dig me far beneath the layers of earth

Where no one can hear my call

I expect my rebirth.

Memoirs (An Autobiography)

Embraced didn’t get his due

For twenty years his mental self

Even though meticulously true

To his honest efforts.

“Roll back my life that subsisted

for a square meal”

Dissatisfied, no regrets, resisted

his eloped doom.

A day will come his beliefs

Without alteration come true

Paying tributes to the reliefs

for his ever expected dream.

His rise from the base

Aspirations soared high

Making a cry to chase

The mercurial life

His everlasting agony a burden

Of expectations from nears

Protection the relations with sudden

Speechless phase of logics

A hard look at the past

Making him shameless

Pessimist abase and aghast

Among smiling tulips

The only hope of coming out

Of the trance the web

Where tiny flies shout

Searching for safe hands

Spiders sucking every drop

From the flowing veins

Of rare golden crop

Awaits the rains of love

A vicious circle maneuvering the fire

Haunted him throughout his life

Shivering him with heat of blazing pyre

and cold drops of sweat

School Song

Shower me wisdom and make me glee

O lord of learning I come to thee

Teach me love as I am meek

Fresh my mind, blessings I seek

I not am mighty but a mortal wee

O lord of learning……………….

Gather me sweet and eschew sour

Make me sturdy to care for poor

Break my shackles and make me free

O lord of learning……………….

My words be love and thoughts great

Every word be there that vanquish hate Push me forth so a human I be

O lord of learning………………..

Give me strength when I am in pain

And make me assured when it’s gain

Keep all the rot away from me

O lord of learning………………..

Wish I could see the world in delight

With all the plight go without fight

Bless me o lord all this I see

O lord of learning………………..

Make me able to help the needy

And make me Judge fair and greedy

Let all the souls be pure and buddy

O lord of learning………………..

Kalpana Chawla

God gave her intellect to ponder

She made that use.

Her vision pierced the skies

And was fuse.

Gap to the stars narrowed

And the march became easy

Hopes of millions widened across

And she was now busy

Imagined our welbeing

And dashed to the cosmos,

For saving mankind

Perilous mission she came across.

Filled her life with joyful colors

Made her dreams come true

made us proud and kept head high

A ball of fire she went through

Motherland defused, sight faded

The globe went far away.

Became a star shining up

Volumes did she say

Courage is what makes one glow

Go and try showing,

You have the zeal, you are the best

Carry on growing.

We will again produce the gem

And us the world will call

“Kalpana” went beyond imagination

This is mother India after all.
